Webinar Service Disruption

Incident Report for TwentyThree

Postmortem

The issue was caused by the introduction of the new feature action cards in the webinar room.

The root cause was a misconfigured cache header in the action cards feature, which triggered an excessive number of requests to one of our services. This overwhelmed the system, stalling much of the platform and causing webinar stream restarts. We have now fixed the misconfigured cache header to prevent this from happening again.

Resolved

We're experiencing outages on the platform as two large webinars starting simultaneously put unexpected strain on our systems through the new action cards feature. Some webinars are restarting while we stabilize the platform and work on limiting the feature to restore reliability.
